Started off as Malaysia Trading Agencies in the early 1960s, the main operation at that time revolved around developing and selling food flavourings and essence.
As the business grew, the company was renamed Damah Trading Sdn. Bhd. and the company expanded to selling preservatives, anti-caking agent and other food additives in addition to flavours and essences. In 1966, Damah Trading was appointed as T. Hasegawa Co. Ltd’s sole agent in Malaysia and Singapore.
In 1984, the company again expanded by establishing its very own manufacturing arm, Peresscol Sdn. Bhd. with the help and support of Mr. Hayashi of T. Hasegawa Co., Ltd Japan. The name “Peresscol” was derived from the words Perfume, Essence and Colouring. As Damah Trading’s manufacturing arm, Peresscol is to venture into the production of food seasoning powders, flavour powders, liquid flavourings, food colourings and other food additives.
In 1998, The Malaysian Islamic Development Department (JAKIM) awarded Peresscol its Halal status. Peresscol was also bestowed the prestigious Enterprise 50 Award (23rd position) for its financial capabilities, operations and management skills. With much conscientious effort, the company has obtained multiple accreditations such as FSSC 22000:2013, Food Safety Management System ISO 22000:2005 and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP).
In October 2014, Peresscol Sdn. Bhd. was fully acquired by T.Hasegawa Co., Ltd. Damah Trading continues to operate as the sole distributor for Peresscol and T. Hasegawa in Malaysia, Singapore & Bangladesh.
